Operational Updates

Dear Ripped Bodice Community,

We want to make sure we are keeping you updated on how we are handling this crisis. It’s been a very challenging time but we are hanging in there.

The shop remains closed to all customers with no events on the calendar. Once we have more clarity about the ongoing health crisis, we will reevaluate the calendar and let everyone know.

-Online orders

We are still accepting online orders and have adopted a process to best comply with the evolving guidelines from California and LA County Departments of Health.

This means that Leah is processing all incoming orders and our staff has been instructed to stay at home. Because this is now a one-woman operation, shipping may be slower than normal. We love and appreciate your support in this incredibly difficult time, so we ask that you bear with us as we continue to fill orders.

-Care packages

We are now accepting new orders for care packages. However, because we are down to a shipping staff of one, we will be accepting orders in batches so as not to overwhelm Leah. Head to this link to enter your email address, and we’ll send you the order link once it’s your turn.

Questions about orders (or anything) can be directed to hello@therippedbodicela.com

Finally, now is a great time to think about becoming a Patron of the store.

There is already a ton of cool content you can check out on our page. Including 12 original short stories from some amazing romance authors. Vlogs and other fun stuff. We know this is not an option for everyone and that's totally okay and understandable. But if you're looking for a way to help, this is a great option.

We hope you are all doing okay and making it through one day at a time.

This is book number 28 in the Capital Crimes series.

Description

Laura is a young intern in Washington, D.C., working for handsome and likable Congressman Hal Gannon. Laura falls for the charming Gannon, but when she catches a stewardess at Gannon's apartment, she vows to destroy him.

Private investigator Robert Brixton is a former cop who has also worked for the FBI. When Laura goes missing, Brixton is hired by Laura's family to gain insight into the case that the police might have missed.

Brixton tracks down rumors about Gannon—a staunchly moral "family advocate" according to his political position, but a womanizer according to gossip—but the congressman vehemently denies having anything untoward to do with Laura. Then Laura is found dead in the congressional cemetery, and many more questions are raised. . .

Donald Bain thrills again with Margaret Truman's Internship in Murder, the riveting next installment in the Margaret Truman's beloved Capital Crimes series.

About the Author

Margaret Truman won faithful readers with her works of biography and fiction, particularly her Capital Crimes mysteries. Her novels let readers into the corridors of power and privilege, and poverty and pageantry, in the nation’s capital. She was the author of many nonfiction books, including The President’s House, in which she shared some of the secrets and history of the White House, where she once resided. She lived in Manhattan.

Donald Bain (1935-2017), the author of more than 115 books, including more than forty of the bestselling Murder, She Wrote novels, was a longtime friend of Margaret Truman. He worked closely with her on her novels, and more than anyone understood the spirit and substance of her books.

Praise For…

“Truman ‘knows the forks' in the nation's capital and how to pitchfork her readers into a web of murder and detection.” —The Christian Science Monitor

“Truman can write suspense with the best of them.” —Larry King

“A dazzling series.” —The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
