About the Author
Deacon Matthew Newsome has guided young adults in their faith for over fifteen years as the Catholic campus minister to the students of Western Carolina University. He is an ordained deacon for the Diocese of Charlotte and holds an MA in Theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary. He writes a regular column for the Catholic News Herald (Diocese of Charlotte) and has published articles in various Catholic magazines. He and his wife Joannie have seven children. When not engaging with his students, Deacon Matt spends his time painting, hiking, and tending to the family menagerie of sheep, chickens, two barn cats and one old donkey.
